L uxury watch retailer Swiss Watch Gallery recently launched the reopening of its revamped Rolex Boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. The celebration was made even more special as it marked the 10th year of the partnership between Swiss Watch Gallery and the prestigious Swiss watchmaker Rolex.
The collaboration between Swiss Watch Gallery and Rolex began in 2007 with the opening of the boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, which was then the largest Rolex standalone boutique in Southeast Asia. Swiss Watch Gallery currently manages and operates six standalone Rolex boutiques across Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
The milestone was feted over two very special evenings hosted by Swiss Watch Gallery and Rolex.
On September 27, an elegant dinner was held at Enfin by James Won in celebration of the partnership between Rolex and Swiss Watch Gallery. The highly exclusive invite-only affair was hosted by Sharan Valiram and Ashvin Valiram, Executive Directors of Valiram, which owns Swiss Watch Gallery, together with Rolex Southeast Asia Executive. Sixty guests comprising prominent personalities from Corporate Malaysia and the Arts were treated to a five-course bespoke dinner and the musical stylings of international artiste and producer, Amanda Imani.
Highlight of the evening was the beautiful showcase of Rolex Oyster Perpetual timepieces comprising of the Lady-Datejust 28, Dateiust 41, Sky-Dweller, Cosmoqraph Daytona and Yacht-Master 40. The stunning centrepiece of the exhibit was the gem-set Yacht-Master 40, the watchmaker’s emblematic nautical watch.
This version is encased in I8ct Everose gold and set with precious 32 sapphires, 8 tsavourites and 1 diamond. lt is fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet developed and patented by Rolex, and is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex.
On September 28, the foyer of the Rolex boutique was transformed into an all-white gallery, embellished with the watchmaker’s insignia, featuring films that offered quests a glimpse of the extraordinary world of Rolex. A four-piece string ensemble played as quests savoured the champagne and canapes.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by the Valiram Executive Directors, Sharan Valiram and Ashvin Valiram, Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd CEO – Retail, Dato’ Joyce Yap, and Rolex Southeast Asia Executive.
The 158 square-metre boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur offers an intimate setting in which to discover an impressive selection Of Rolex Wristwatches, particularly the Oyster Perpetual models, which form the pillar of a legendary collection that combines tradition, prestige and technology with precision, peerless reliability and style suited to every occasion.
Upon entering the boutique, the visitor is enveloped in an atmosphere inspired by water and the sea, evoking the essence of Rolex, known worldwide as the inventor of the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch. An illuminated Aqua wall draws the eye with its gently undulating wave motif, while the elegantly designed salesroom provides a bespoke private service to clientele seeing a discreet shopping experience. The Rolex crown, iconic symbol of the brand, decorates the walls and display cases.
The revamped boutique features sophisticated and refined materials and ﬁnishes — including polished walnut wood cabinets and bronze detailing — setting the scene for a customer experience that is as luxurious as the watches on display.
