Bell & Ross takes a minimal approach the Horograph and Horolum

The timepieces are inspired by Bauhaus design principles

I f you’re searching for a fuss-free, uncluttered daily wear watch, look no further than the Bell & Ross BR03-92 Horograph and BR03-92 Horolum. Bell & Ross drew inspiration from the Bauhaus design philosophy of right angles, clean lines and minimal ornamentation to create these two new references.

While the principles of industrial aesthetics may underline the watches, both very obviously evoke the world of aviation as well. With its minimalist, graphic dial, the Horograph is reminiscent of clocks found in airport terminals. Housed in a micro-blasted grey steel case with matte finish is a black matte dial with white baton indices and reinforced white baton-shaped hands for utmost readability and precision. The 42mm watch is powered by the automatic calibre BR-CAL.302 and finished with a black rubber strap.

Outfitted in muted tones of grey and green, the limited edition Horolum reproduces the codes of lighting on the runway used to guide pilots. This model features a micro-blasted grey steel case and matching dial made of micro-blasted brass-rhodium. The dial is formed by two superimposing metal plates with a sandwich construction. The grey upper section is cut away around the numerals and indices, revealing the photo-luminescent coating covering the lower plate. The Superluminova coating on the indices, numerals and hands mimics the colour used to light up airport runways and its ultra-phosphorescent quality allows for easy reading of the time, even at night. The Horolum ticks with the automatic calibre BR-CAL.302 and is matched with a grey-green calfskin strap.
