Live from SIHH 2018: Highlights from Day 2

W e are headed into Day 2 of the SIHH in Geneva, and it is another full and exciting day of amazing novelties from brands like A. Lange & Söhne, Cartier, Montblanc and Vacheron Constantin. Here are our top picks.

1. MONTBLANC Star Legacy Automatic Chronograph

Apart from paying tribute to Nicolas Riussec, Montblanc also introduced this Automatic Chronograph under its Star Legacy collection. The watch displays an aesthetic rooted in Montblanc’s tradition of craftsmanship and Minerva’s fine watchmaking history combined with practical chronograph function. It truly pays tribute to the elegance of the historical Minerva timepieces.

Why we love it: The watch comes with a new blue Sfumato alligator leather strap from the Montblanc Pelleteria in Florence, Italy.

2. VACHERON CONSTANTIN Traditionelle Complete Calendar “Excellence Platine”

The new modern complication and highly precious vintage watch was inspired by two stunning vintage pieces – the Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942 and the Triple Calendrier 1948. Limited to 100 pieces, this complication’s main attraction is its single piece platinum dial with sand-blasted finish, giving off a matte look and metallic shine under certain light conditions.

Why we love it: Its platinum case as well as the dial, since it is one of the most complex and rarest materials.
